I met Allison for a quick drink at Soho House Chicago to talk about her upcoming wedding and, more importantly, get to know one another. We quickly discovered our mutual love for travel, with Morocco at the top of both our lists. Both laid-back individuals, Allison and her future husband Josh (who’s wonderfully outgoing and a bit goofy), made it clear that their wedding was going to be a smaller, more intimate affair at a beautiful location—my absolute dream as a Chicago Wedding Photographer.
We kicked off their engagement session at Josh’s restaurant in Chicago, Giant. This place is insanely cool and such a big part of who they are, so it was the perfect starting point. We captured some fantastic shots indoors, on the back patio, and even in the alleyway. The unique character of Giant provided a wonderful backdrop that added a personal touch to their photos.
Next, we headed to the Art Institute of Chicago for the second part of our shoot. The almost empty garden made for a magical setting, allowing us to capture some truly intimate and beautiful moments. The serene environment was perfect for this Chicago Film Photographer to work some magic with the camera, making the engagement session unforgettable.
As a Film Photographer, I love incorporating different settings that reflect a couple’s personality, and this session was no exception. The blend of Josh’s trendy restaurant and the tranquil gardens of the Art Institute provided a perfect balance of urban and natural elements, which is something I always strive for in my work.
The session was filled with laughter, love, and a sense of adventure—qualities I look forward to capturing again at their wedding. Allison and Josh’s easygoing nature made the session a joy, and their excitement about the future was infectious.
I can’t wait to hang out with them again and document their special day. Whether you’re looking for a Chicago Wedding Photographer, a Film Wedding Photographer, or simply someone to capture the essence of your love story, I’m here to create beautiful, timeless memories for you.
