Film Family Photos: Anna Maria Island

Oh my goodness, I can’t gush about this family or this shoot enough. When Sonia reached out to me and said she wanted me to photograph her family on vacation and wanted all the color, laughs, happiness, and crazy film I could throw at her, I just about died of excitement. To have free rein to use doubles, light leaks, film soup, and bring color and happiness made my heart so happy. This film shoot is filled with film soup, light leaks, Kodak Ektar working its magic, and everything in between.

There’s something special about being a film family photographer. I live for capturing genuine, candid moments full of life. As a destination family photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many wonderful families all over the world, but this session was truly one for the books.

For anyone looking for film photography ideas, this shoot was a dream. We played with light leaks and experimented with different angles to get that perfect shot. The kids (and mom and dad!) were laughing and running around, creating the most beautiful, unplanned moments. These film family photos are not just images; they are memories captured in a way that feels almost magical.

Being a photographer for family sessions allows me to explore creativity in ways that digital can’t quite replicate. The unpredictability of film, the vibrant colors of Kodak Ektar, and the unique textures of film soup all come together to create something truly special.

My images are happy, colorful, and creative. My clients love their photographs filled with happiness and love, art for their walls and their souls. Even teenagers love these vibrant, lively captures.
