I don’t even know where to begin with this fun shoot we had for my Aloha Film Retreat, cohosted with the incredibly talented Wendy Laurel. As a film photographer, capturing the essence of family life in vibrant, colorful family photos is my jam. I love photographing families and capturing their personalities. The surfboards, water fights, hugs, laughter, and being surrounded by water and palm trees made my heart so happy during this shoot. Real life is not perfect; it’s a bit hectic and chaotic but beautiful, and having that come through in sessions is just perfect and wonderful, making for real moments and happiness.
Being a film photographer in Chicago, I often find myself daydreaming of these sun-soaked sessions. The contrast between our windy city’s urban landscape and the tropical paradise of our retreat is delightful. This session is packed with light leaks, double exposures, and a lot of fun photos that I hope they love forever. Film photography captures these moments in such a unique, timeless way, and I cherish every frame.
Thank you, Seanna and your beautiful family, for being a fantastic model family for our workshop! You are all so amazing, and we are forever grateful.
