Hinsdale
Hey there! I always have the most amazing time shooting a family session at sunset. As a Chicago film photographer, I live for these moments. There’s just something so magical about the soft, golden light of the setting sun that makes everything look straight out of a fairytale. We laughed, we played, and I probably looked a bit silly rolling around to get the perfect shot. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
One of the things I love most about film photography is the way it captures genuine, raw emotions. There’s no filter needed – the natural grain and colors of film do all the work. And let me tell you, the photos from this session turned out absolutely stunning. The warm, golden tones of the sunset mixed with the natural beauty of the field and the family’s pure joy made for some seriously magical shots.
Although I show a lot of full-sun images (which I absolutely love), there’s something truly special about capturing families at sunset. The light is softer, the colors are richer, and the overall vibe is just so serene and beautiful. It’s the perfect time to get those heartfelt, candid family photos that you’ll cherish forever.
If you’re thinking about getting some family photos done, I can’t recommend a sunset session enough. There’s just something about that time of day that brings out the best in everyone. Plus, it’s a great excuse to let the kids run around and have fun while I capture those candid moments.
So, if you’re in the Chicago area and looking for a film photographer who’s all about capturing those real, beautiful moments, let’s chat! I promise we’ll have a blast, and you’ll end up with some gorgeous family photos to treasure forever. Let’s make some magic together!
A quick tip for families considering sunset shoots: The only time I don’t recommend sunset sessions is when it falls around kids’ bedtimes or disrupts their sleep schedules. I suggest scheduling sessions during the day when they are the happiest.
